Ear lobe repair

Ear lobe repair is a minor surgical procedure designed to correct torn, stretched, or split ear lobes. Damage can result from heavy earrings, accidental trauma, or large piercings such as gauges. The procedure restores the natural contour of the ear lobe, making it possible to wear earrings again (after healing) and improving the overall appearance of the ear.

The repair is usually done under local anesthesia in an outpatient setting and takes less than an hour. After carefully reshaping and suturing the tissue, the ear lobe is allowed to heal over a few weeks. Most patients experience minimal discomfort and can return to normal activities quickly. Once healing is complete, the ear can typically be re-pierced if desired.
